Amy R. Brown represents the interests of management in all areas of labor and employment law. Prior to joining McMahon Berger, Amy clerked for the Hon. Robert E. Larsen in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. Amy previously worked at the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C., and she has experience in general defense litigation. While in law school, Amy received the Golden Quill Award for Best Brief in the Wiley B. Rutledge Moot Court competition, and her law review note, Mental Disabilities Under the ADA: The Role of Employees and Employers in the Interactive Process, was published in the Washington University Journal of Law and Policy.
Amy represents clients on various labor matters, including arbitration, union avoidance, elections, collective bargaining, strikes, injunctions, and unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board. Amy’s employment practice includes defending claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. She is also involved in investigating and responding on behalf of management to employee claims before administrative agencies. In addition, Amy advises clients on employment-related matters, such as personnel policies, daily human resources issues, employment contracts, severance agreements, and employee handbooks.
