James is an experienced attorney, based in St. Louis, Missouri, that has more than 40 years of experience in private practice and represents management in all facets of labor and employment law. James has appeared twice before the United States Supreme Court.

He represents employers across the United States before the NLRB, including unfair labor practices charges, statutory remedial issues, statutory priority cases including secondary boycotts, and representation proceedings. He also has extensive experience with negotiations, collective bargaining, strikes, and in obtaining Federal and State injunctions. James has successfully done hundreds of arbitrations and regularly negotiates labor agreements.

James has an extensive background in the airline and railway industries under the Railway Labor Act. He represents major carriers before Federal courts, in arbitration before the adjustment board, and in representation matters before the National Mediation Board.

James litigates employment discrimination claims in Federal and State courts and before administrative agencies. He advises clients on personnel policies, employment contracts, severance agreements, employee handbooks, and similar human resources matters.
