Newly seated Missouri Governor Eric Greitens recently expressed strong support for meaningful reform to help make Missouri more business-friendly. Dan will discuss proposed, perfected and contemplated bills intended to support the Governor’s position. In addition, Dan will discuss updates to Illinois law, including employee sick leave, new limitations on non-compete agreements, and child bereavement leave.

The Department of Labor Under the New Administration

Brian M. O’Neal

Brian will discuss legislation and administrative regulations affecting the Department of Labor, personnel changes and their effect on policy moving forward, and what employers can expect with respect to wage and hour, employee leave, and other issues under the new administration.

The Intersection of Employee Leave and Employee Benefits

Joshua E. Richardson

Josh will discuss how leave impacts employee health plan coverage, an employer’s obligations under health and pension plans during FMLA leave, a strike, layoff and other types of leave, and an employee’s benefit rights during leave.
